Most Latin American illegals who stay are from Central America. They risk a lot to get here, and most ride freight trains to the U.S. border. Plenty of Mexicans stay too, but many are up here to make money to build a life back home. Very difficult for those from Central America or South America to get back home. Those who fly in and overstay visa are usually from Europe or Asia.

That's what will be interesting about building a wall. There has to be massive amounts of security to protect builders. And after it's built there will have to be serious security to keep cartels from blowing holes in it. From that perspective if you're going to provide serious security up and down the border to protect the wall why not just go the cheap route and roll out massive amounts of razor wire? Put sensors in the ground to detect tunneling and fly drones over with detection capabilities. Could shut down the border quickly.

That's talking about legal visitors overstaying. I'm talking about illegals coming up to stay and they come up by foot, too poor to buy a plane ticket and highly unlikely they could get a visa.
