Teamsters suck

What you say does have truth. Many people end up at UPS because of previously failed career choices. I'm more impressed by someone who tried and failed, than a young person who chooses mediocrity early-on.
Do something with your life, don't settle on UPS while you still have youth. Continue your education, do something that makes you use your brain. Leave the mindless dumb work at UPS for the old people.

Hope this helps.
I wish him nothing but the worst

Not back in the day. UPS was one of the best jobs and well run and respected. Now I go into work and it looks like a pathetic 3 ring circus

Has the OP forgotten that, at some point, he will be an "old geezer"?

I'm guessing he is a young millennial whose focus doesn't extend beyond the end of his nose.

I am. I enjoy going in each day. Whistling with a smile on my face. You know why? Because I started out low on the totem pole as a loader on midnight, worked my way up over the years . To LVD, HVD pick-off, sort aisle, from midnight to twilight to day sort. Air exception driver, Saturday air driver to full time driver. Where I started out as a cover driver going out blind doing absolutely crap routes that were 150 stops in four different counties. Last person clocking out. Until I made it to get my 1st route, that was a absolute rock pile POS. Bid my way to better and better routes until now 29 years later somewhere that I enjoy. I appreciate where I am because I remember where I came from and how long it took me to get here. :censored2: these new guys off the street who want right into the cushy jobs or routes because they feel they are entitled to them because their parents have told them they are special

Blame technology. When was Detroit "well run and respected"-before technology. It's not the 70's anymore.

It's like when idiots say, "make America great again." when exactly are they referring to? Before technology.

Times are a changin'.

That's a touching story. Did you walk uphill both ways to work?

Wait, put the benefits aside for a second. So what you are telling me is that you as a preloader, would prefer to wait on a list that goes by seniority to see if you could qualify for a driver position (let's assume that's what you wanted, or even for Feeders) instead of applying for the job you wanted and being able to showcase your ability to get the job? You would prefer to wait months/years instead of showing what you've got to offer?
It is what it is....let’s say that when you first started there was 1 supervisor that didn’t like you because your breath stinks. Now, 30 years later, that supervisor is still working at UPS. And you never advanced.
