Memorial Day is for those who didn't make it back alive. Don't thank us, thank them.

I have to pay respects to one.

This weekend lets take a minute or two and think about all the brave women and men who have upheld the great tradition of serving this great country.

Many sacrifices have been laid down before us with sefless valor.

God Bless the American soldier.

Oh so that's why we get Monday off...

Today the public see what these soldiers go through after war and I couldn't imagine risking my life for this country only to return home and be criticized.

Veterans Day 2016: Where military service members can get freebies

Lots of freebies for veterans today.

Texas Roadhouse offered a free (limited) lunch menu for all veterans. I drove by there a little before 11 and there was already a line waiting for them to open.

I am going to 99 tonight----they are offering a BOGO from the $9.99 menu. I plan to eat one there and bring the other home for either Saturday or Sunday dinner.

about 20 veterans a day commit suicide . about 18% of the daily toll of suicide in this country. last year almost a million veterans called the suicide hotline. if you know of anyone , veteran or not, that appears or is in a bad place , please encourage them to talk to you or better, a professional.
