I have heard rumors of 50-something loads behind in district and gypsy pulling loads..not sure if that is true. Also locally, maybe one center only, all drivers 92 and up forced Saturday
But I've been told by our BA that we have the strongest supplement out thereI’m in the New England supplement and we don’t have any such protections
I’ve been told the same. But I've been told by our BA that we have the strongest supplement out there
The Company shall not change the DOT sixty (60) hours in seven (7) days to the seventy (70) hours in eight (8) days rule for package drivers except at Peak.
Thank you for clarifying thatIt is peak.
You seem to be surprised that the company would change to the 70 hour rule. It is peak and it is in the contract that they can do this at peak.Thank you for clarifying that
I only brought this up because when they were selling us on the contract Dennis T said that the 70 hour rule would only be implemented on rare occasions and that they would not have to force anybody to work because of the double time but my building everybody was forced to work. I was laughing because contract was just ratified last year and the previous peek when the contract wasn’t ratified I barely work 40 hours. You seem to be surprised that the company would change to the 70 hour rule. do you think Denis T would disapprove? not until he is sitting in jump seat at 66.5hrs on a SaturdayDenis T said during the contract conference call that UPS would only be able to implement the 70hr rule during peak for package and it would only be with his approval
True but it’s how quickly people forget what was said to get a contract passed. Nobody is held accountable for what they saydo you think Denis T would disapprove? not until he is sitting in jump seat at 66.5hrs on a Saturday
There is no issue, though? "with his approval" He was probably happy to obligeTrue but it’s how quickly people forget what was said to get a contract passed. Nobody is held accountable for what they say
Oh I’m sure an the added bonus he implemented the 70 hour rule to O’Briens supplement. There is no issue, though? "with his approval" He was probably happy to oblige
You know that peak is a "rare occasion" because they never see it coming, always a surprise.I only brought this up because when they were selling us on the contract Dennis T said that the 70 hour rule would only be implemented on rare occasions

You'd be the first one on the belt- an hour before start time.Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

The Teamsters pretty much let them do as they please.Either way, we all know the Teamsters are not going to tell UPS no they can't use 70/8 during peak.
You must be part time...I made 10 grand in November! Lol
There really SHOULD be an asterisk. An hour? Only if I am running late.
