The Border Crisis: Is Allowing Illegals To Flood In A Good Thing?

Why do you care about immigrants in sanctuary cities?

In theory, I think it's a fantastic idea. Let 'em choke on it. But the reality is that if your dirtbag idiot neighbor's house is infested with rats, your house is gonna' have rats too.
What happened to state rights?

State rights is a very relevant argument. I guess it all boils down to how much resources the Gov't will commit to enforcing Federal law.

I do know that the notion of state rights did not work out well for the Confederacy.

The issue of sanctuary states will be interesting to watch. It seems like some Democrats want to FAFO. But with any pressure at all, I think they'll fold faster than Superman on laundry day.

BOSTON — The Healey administration is aiming to eventually limit shelter costs to $350 million per year compared to the more than $1 billion dollars spent this fiscal year.
Governor Healey announced her plan on Friday that would bring significant changes over the next 19 months.
It includes winding down the use of 56 hotels and motels across the state and cutting down the shelter stay limit from nine months to six months.
Those steps will come with increased resources for finding long-term housing.
Healey is proposing that the rental stipend families can receive under state’s HomeBASE program increase from $15,000 per family per year to $25,000 per family per year.

Oh come on. The Federal government is responsible for secure borders which means keeping people out who haven't gone through the legal immigration process. States don't get to supersede that. And there were forum members before the election who recognized the problems the illegals were causing and they wanted to lay it at the Texas governor's feet. As if Texas should be responsible for 10+ million illegals even though it's the current administration who let them in. We care about upholding the law and protecting citizens from the criminals who came in with the rest.

Can you imagine how highly taxed, struggling residents of Massachusetts must feel about paying rent for people who shouldn't be there?

Interesting
(Trump's policies on immigration could have more of an economic impact than his promised tariffs, Capital Economics' Neil Shearing writes.

He argues that plans to remove as many as 1 million undocumented immigrants each year could end up reducing economic growth "by around 1% a year.")

The US dollar has plummeted following the announcement of Treasury Secretary nominee, dampening expectations for the Trump administration

Plummeted? Sounds like you are listening to some fake news that is trying to make a Headline. I watch the dollar index and I remember it being as low as 99 cents when Biden was in. Fear mongers have nothing to push but fear to keep people watching.

Where do these people get their talking points? I would have to turn the channel or else eat a bullet out of the constant fear.

Plummeted is Fake News. Yep it “dipped” not “plummeted“ the dollar dips and rises every day. Why is a 1/2 a percent dip all a sudden Big news? Because people will read the headline and parrot what is said because it sounds bad for Trump.
We are better off when it dips. Plus it’s trending to 0 anyways. Your reminded of this every time you pay your auto insurance.
