He was never charged because the statute of limitations had expired.

One of his victims was in court. DH admitted to the molesting. The judge ripped him a new one and tripled the recommended sentence.

So how is the judge allowing a civil case against Hastert to go forward for failing to paying off the blackmailer ?
Like you said he confessed , it's on the official court records .
