Do you work for Fedex Ground?

My sup/manager teams over the years only wish I did. I've been around quite some time to garner max vacation time.
I'm in absolutely no hurry whatsoever out there when I work. I'm more for being technical and doing everything precise and safe.

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Jesus we better hope we lighten at the end of this week and next week. It sounds like some places are already behind the 8 ball farther than they have any chance of coming back from.

View attachment 168127 My Hub is a total disaster this year, I have never seen so many Left In Buildings. I was missing about twenty stops, I still had 215 today.

Can't say they aren't consistent.

They should rename our company and change the logo as well to friend*Ups in honor of management. Because that's exactly what they are.

But the 14-hour rule does include your lunch break. if you punch-in at 8am then you must punch-out by 10pm. If you took an hour lunch break then you get paid 13 hours. If you didn't then you get paid 14 hours. You could take a 3-hour lunch break, but you'd still have to punch-out by 10pm.
Nope,
14 hour rule pertains to driving. You must stop driving by 14 hours from punch in...No more driving after 14.
You can do check out stuff and take break (if you are stupid) after the 14 hours.
We have had drivers stop the truck on the way in, so the sup could drive him in, when it gets close to the 14 hour mark.
We have drivers every year who work over 14 hours, but not drive over 14.
Then they must delay punching in until 10 hours after punch-out.

90% of our drivers today were pushing the 14 hour limit, even with tons of left in bldgs.

Was told to shut back doors at 9:40 this morning, stop loading and leave asap. 1000+(I would imagine) packages LIB. Had 4 air stops and only got one of them off in time.

Took me 14 hours to do a little over 220 stops. Sooo many missing packages and wasted time digging for phantom packages. Truck was also bricked and loaded like crap. Gotta love when you get a day sort double shifter loading your truck. :censored2:er had no idea what he was doing.

Nobody was back in the building before 10 besides the seasonals w/ the air or pickup volume.

Our building rolled three trailers yesterday. Probably rolling some tonight. We're short on both preload and local sorts, plus not enough drivers and not enough helpers.

It sucks. This week has been garbage for us so far.

The chickens care coming home to roost in 2017 for big brown.

For many years we all know that the only way anyone can be successful in management is to be a yes man/women. When asked to make some metric, you say yes and make it happen on paper no matter what. Thats how you get promoted at big brown. Well, now all those yes sups/managers have been promoted to even higher positions with the same yes mentality by cooking the books. Afraid to say to their boss "that is impossible". Us hourlies will clean up the mess the best we can, but I am afraid that won't be enough to get us out of this hole.

Nice job UPS. This is the year the chickens come home to roost.

Speak for yourself brother, I'm not cleaning up anything. Taking my time just as I do all year round.

has anyone's mgmt. team decided to conduct the annual hazmat training for drivers while waiting on the late air and the hopeless preload wrapup

No but it would make sense to do so; however, I would be sure to file a grievance as past practice has us coming in an hour early on the clock to complete this training.
