I don't know
But good for them
I don’t know about that. I knew some military retirees that came to UPS as “Specialists” (hourly), but worked in Acft Maintenance in Programs, Records, Engine Condition Monitoring, etc)…office-type jobs.
They got sucked into the mechanics union and then ended up at the bottom of the seniority.
Hello weekends, nights and holidays out on the ramp turning wrenches.
These guys had retired as E-8/9, CWO, etc

This is actually pretty wild…thought everyone at brown who wasn’t teamsters were considered mgt??? How were they able to pull this off?

Watch the fine print..I am guessing that once these new Union Clerical leave or retire there will be an understanding that their positions will be eliminated. Did that to the L407 Union Clerks decades ago, as far as their pension credits we will have to see?

Once union those admins will lose their 401k match which was given in ups stock. Unless their contract has language that company still matches

Years ago these have a pension just like the hourly employees has

Case of Study: Morrow II UPS employees back in 1992…Assets were transferred from the Management’s UPS Retirement Plan to the UPS Pension Plan.

The UPS Pension Plan is primarily set up for all those (Union) part time members under the Central and Southern.

The Company has done this to different work classifications in the past even when it was never negotiated with the Teamsters.
