It seems to me that in reality, if you want to be truly honest with yourself, every person’s view of God is their own understanding of God.

Matthew 7:21-23

I Never Knew You

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

So if everyone can have their own view and own ideas of what God is and is not, and what he wants, how can you possibly know his will? Sounds like you’re filling your own will. And if you can use your own understanding, how do you know what lawlessness or iniquity is?

How can you be sure you won’t be one of the ones he tells to depart from him if you’re not seeking his will only? Just calling him “Lord” is clearly not enough.

This is all based upon your understanding, no?

No, scripture.

What is your understanding of why he would tell you to depart from him? Even though you called him, Lord Lord. But follow your own will and not his.

Many people might be in for an unfortunate surprise that day.

The people who are in the most danger are the ones lying to the people telling them they can do as they, please, and as their heart tells them instead of what God’s roadmap, the Bible tells us to follow. Those are the workers of iniquity.

Imagine telling a union member don’t worry about what the contract book says just use your own understanding. 😂 that member is not going to be happy with your advice at his hearing.

He personally reveals His will. I do not seek to follow my own will, only His will for me.

I know what lawlessness and iniquity is as the Holy Spirit reveals it to me, according to His will for me.

I can be sure because of His promises.

What is your understanding of what is enough then?

So it is your understanding that the Bible is a roadmap?

Thought for Today

It seems to me that in reality, if you want to be truly honest with yourself, every person’s view of God is their own understanding of God.

Even if this understanding originates from religion or religious texts.

May you experience the love of God, as you understand God, today and always.

May you listen to His speaking voice, the words He has for you, for your good.
