Isn't that what they always do?The company wanted to drag their feet and then at 11:59 play games and beg to go back to the bargaining table...not ok

What's next? Christmas day deliveries? That's just another Normal work day?Uh they give up an extremely high profit day because of their respecting the day of worship.
If they wouldn’t have played games there would have not been any strike in 97...Isn't that what they always do?

Not me. You can bet neither the locals nor the Corp office in Atlanta will be working on Christmas Day.What's next? Christmas day deliveries? That's just another Normal work day?
No need to work that day.Not me. You can bet neither the locals nor the Corp office in Atlanta will be working on Christmas Day.
I disagree. Every other restaurant that is open on Sunday is their competitor and the general public expects all the restaurants to be open...Very different business model, they don't have competitors offering our customers long term contracts that include Saturday/Sunday delivery. If we give up on weekend delivery we're not just giving up on one day of profit we're giving up on a selling point for a contract that will ultimately cost us jobs.
Apples to oranges. Really no comparison.I disagree. Every other restaurant that is open on Sunday is their competitor and the general public expects all the restaurants to be open...
even the church folks that would never work on Sunday themselves but frequent the businesses that force their workers to work that day. Dont get me started on that subject.
Yeah dude, Sunday service (minus premium service pkgs to commercial customers and medical needs) is just the US fetish for the McDonalds "give it to me now" generation. Pathetic.Apples to oranges. Really no comparison.
without the union, (I am talking long-term over the decades), UPS would be a vastly different company and it is without question that people would be treated better, overall. I am not talking about pay or benefits, I am simply talking about being treated like a normal working person and human being. I worked for a private company for many years and they HAD to treat people good, to keep the union out! This post has got to be a finalist for the Darwin Award.
That's not a concession since article 40 already outlines split pay, for outside and inside work.Concession. If they have to load trucks then deliver they deserve driver wages for all hours worked.
Art 40 is all about air operations. Art 22.3 details combo jobs and pay. That's not a concession since article 40 already outlines split pay, for outside and inside work.
My point is that split pay already existsArt 40 is all about air operations. Art 22.3 details combo jobs and pay.
Correct, More Employees = More union dues.
Maybe "Flex" Drivers. Same wage, but they only work 4 days a week??
IDK, not here to solve anything.
