Vacation week blocked, trip already booked

My dad booked a flight to St. Martin in April leaving on a weds. Unfortunately that vacation week is unavailable. I have OPH and sick days plus a floating holiday to burn. My question is do I try to ask my center manager for 3 days off that week this far in advance? I can put in my floating holiday for that Fri now. Then I was thinking of just calling in sick that weds, and using an OPH Thursday. I really don't know what to do

I would just book off. In my ctr plenty of drivers are granted days off because of overstaffing.

April is farther off, and outside of the busy Monday after Easter, management would most likely put you on the calendar as off.

It's a big family trip for his 70th birthday....wife and kids Home Alone style lol. 2 days might be more reasonable to ask for & I'll just bang out Weds ha

We haven't pick our vacation yet. It goes from march to march. Is that spring break week in your area? If not, maybe a person signed up that week will swap weeks with you.

Have a friends wedding in April in the Dominican and my parents want to take us to Hawaii in July. Can't book anything until I pick vacation.

If those weeks are blocked tough I can't go.

I would talk to your supes and see what they say, I would also be prepared to for them to say, "nothing guaranteed, the weeks are full." Depending on what kind of employee you are, they will either give it to you or not.
