The dog owner keeps saying the driver could have gone to the front door when it was his wife that led the driver to the garage door where the dog attack took place.

The only additional thing I would like to add, is that I could only wish SOBERUPS was the delivery guy so he could have shot it with one of his beloved steel courage sidekicks. (sarcasm)

TOS.

Your "sarcasm" wasn't funny. Actually, it was downright stupid...and it completely negated what was otherwise a very intelligent and well-written post on your part. I don't carry a gun while working and under no imaginable circumstances could a Jack Russell terrier ever pose enough of a threat to justify shooting it. Get real.

Wherever I see Trump, it smells like he's Putin.
Way back in the day, I was delivering with an arm load of stuff that had a loose Jack Russell. At the time I had not learned dog's body language signals that I needed to assess a potential threat. Their dog trotted out, while the owners were at work, silently but rigid like a small furry armored car. I felt a burning sensation on my calf, like a wasp sting. I wheeled around and dropped their stuff as he released one calf and grabbed the other. I swung the Diad 1 at him, and it actually whooshed through the air, but missed him each time. He was super fast!
The owner called me at home to apologize and asked what I might "want", and I days just to never see the dog loose again, and I didn't.
I had big knots in both calves like I had been pinched with freaking vise grips!
I think I would have killed him with my bare hands of I could have caught him, but to this day I'm glad he got away. I love dogs, even dumb ones, and I did become much better at gauging their behavior after that.

How about contain your animals properly so that any possible incident pike this has a chance of happening . Jack Russell terriers are very smart and great pets , but being a smart and great dog means nothing when the dog is lunging at you . How hard is it to be a responsible pet owner and not put any all people in harms way even if the pet is perceived harmless in the owners eyes . As a visiting professional courier , we are not pet mind readers . I commend UPS on taking the drivers side on this individual circumstance.

In TOS' defense, all that you are saying is exactly what makes it sarcasm. It's a little funny in a "Don't take yourself so seriously" kind of way.

I have been reading the FB page. I do not have FB so can't respond there.

It is interesting that the buffoon keeps talking about "invisible fence" and "using the front door".

It is very obvious that the package that was to be picked up is at the side of the house. The video clearly shows the driver first appears at the side AFTER going to the front door. The package to be picked up either did not have a label or other issues with it. All activity at the side door makes it obvious that this is where the said package is located. Also the wife is the one that escorted the driver to the side door. Yes, the driver did venture over there before she escorted him, but the incident took place after she walked the driver back to the side door.

Max's owner has conveniently left out a lot of useful info. Audio. Signs about electric fence. What the issue was with the return package...... (Which I believe is the main reason for all his protest)

He also claims that the driver never mentioned hitting the dog. By the looks of the video, the stance of the driver, the drivers mannerism certainly indicates there was some discussion of the dog attack.

I have a Jack Russel on my route. The owner told me to not get out when the dog is out. He said, "He's crazy. I never know what he's going to do".
Jack Russell owners love and hate their dogs.
They pretty much drive me crazy (like a 2 year old toddler) ... even when I play fetch with them.
These dogs have the most energy I have ever seen.
I played fetch with a tennis ball for 3 hours before the dog just fell over.
Drank some water and laid in my lap for 10 minutes and was ready to go again.

The only Jack Russel I have been around was a very nippy, defensive and peculiar animal. The dog was very protective of his owners and would certainly bark and bite for no reason at all. It covered most of the main points of why I can't stand dogs and especially their "masters". :D

On another note I've found some very vicious dogs might seem that way to us at work but I don't think the owners are always lying when they say things like "He only acts like this with you." I found out that some dogs seriously don't like the sound of some diesel trucks. This dog I'm talking about would bite the tires and attack the truck all the way off their long road. It was a german shepherd so I declined his offer to get nice with the dog the way he seemed to want to kill me happily. Got a new truck and he's now all waggly and nice when I come there.
On a route I used to run there was a horse farm with this one little yipper dog that would always charge at me and try to bite my ankles. The lady told me that the dog hated brown pants...I just stared at her like that was the dumbest thing I had ever heard. I refused to get out of the truck if that dumb yipper was around, then spring came and I went there once in shorts and the dog just sat there wagging his tail. The lady was right...the dumb dog was actually trying to bite my pants and not me...

I had the same deal with a dog and a truck. There was a route that usually had a freightliner diesel 700 and there was this one retarded poodle that would run out in the road and charge the truck when she heard it coming. I almost clipped that dog like 5 times because she would hide behind a car on the side of the road then charge as I got close trying to bite the moving truck. One day I had a new gas powered 800x and the dog just looked at the truck as I arrived & left and never got up off the grass.

His story is falling apart. On his FB page he wrote this:
" The driver could have gone to the front door. We have an invisible fence that is 50 feet away from any potential contact with the dogs"

On this page shiponeless.com/full-story/ he has the following timeline:

7:24:06
UPS truck arrives in front of our house.

17:24:50
Driver walks up driveway to side door of home where package is sitting on porch to be picked up.

So he acknowledges the driver arrived at the front of the house. And THEN went to the side of the house where the package is sitting on the porch. How was he suppose to get to the package without walking up the driveway. If there are visible holes in the story, there are certainly more that we do not see.

I might be in the minority here, but I think it was a little excessive. Its freakin Frasier dog. I've had medium sized dogs charge me a few times and all I did was stand my ground and charge back at them and they cower with their tail between their legs. A lot of dogs are all bark no bite.
I've been attacked by all different sized dogs but the only ones who actually got to bite me were the small to medium sized dogs that I didn't take seriously because of their size.

I've found with most full size breeds that are attacking you if you stand your ground yell NO at them, don't turn your back and even take a step toward them they won't take it any further, but much like UPS management if you back down, run or turn your back on them it'll bite you in the ass.
