In the Spirit of Honore' Daumier
Newswatch 16's Chelsea Strub shows us the loss a parish is facing and what the shipping company says it's going to do to make it right.
Stations of the Cross smashed during shipping

They should have known better, but the company could step up and make it right.

100 year old Plaster figurines wrapped with one layer of bubble wrap..in a flat box and the real kicker is that they marked “Fragile” all over the boxes. All 14 of them probably never made it past the first sort, surprised that they were delivered in that condition. 📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦...🙀

Absolutely, we all know that. But, it would be nice if UPS made good on the damage.

After all, they can afford it.

It wasn't The company's fault the item was improperly damaged, yes it was very unfortunate and number two you cannot ensure something that is not replaceable.
If something is that valuable and rare you must take a little bit of responsibility for yourself

You’re right. But all fourteen were smashed. That took some dedication.

It doesn't take much for somebody to damage especially if it's that fragile.
Just like one Moreluck send me some pizzels. She having a very nice time wrapped with lots of bubble wrap and the package did not damage it all. But the vibration of them being inside it and destroyed a good bit of them.

Many don’t understand how the insurance works.
Once had someone try to insurer a 10k check for 10k. Sup said we can insure the check for the 25 cents it costs to write a new one.

It's the fair cost replacement value of an item if it's something that can be replaced.
In your example was spot on with if that check got destroyed then UPS would have to pay for the replacement cost of another check not the money
