Weekly Reminder: The economy is great, inflation is fake and gas is cheap.

But I thought by now we’d be starving in a socialist nightmare of scarcity and stagflation??
Is it all or nothing? Flip a switch? Or are we doing the things that will either insure a bright future or a dismal one?

Look at the letting in of 8 million+ illegals so far. Why? Have already heard liberals talk of amnesty and putting them on the road to citizenship. Why? Who benefits from doing that? If there aren't enough.jobs for them will they become dependent on the Democratic Party since the Republican Party thinks they should be removed? And if they're dependent and newly minted citizens who do you think they're going to vote for? Why would the Democrats do all of this? Because it gives them a permanent edge in voting. We've already seen recently the direction the far Left is taking the Democrats. We've seen the direction that major liberal states have taken with economics, crime, homelessness, and drugs.

You seem to want immediate proof that the Democrats are ruining the country. They're well on their way in parts of the country and with complete control we'll have a permanent dependent class supported by everyone else in higher taxes. Socialists have learned that winning revolutions with guns leads to failure. It's indoctrination of children, and winning at the ballot box that brings them success in the long term. Success for them, then failure for everyone else eventually. But they don't care as long as everything is equitable except of course for them as the ruling class. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

The bottom might drop out in a month. It might in two years. One thing is certain, if it's in two years and Trump is president, Democrats will put the blame squarely on him.
The person sitting in the seat at the time gets either the credit or the blame for the current situation. Few would have predicted the US could have recovered so quickly. Biden is polling poorly on the economy even though the US economy is showing to be strong and resilient. Biden is getting beat up because of the debt, even though the interest debt that is crushing us was created largely under the previous President. Because policies are future reaching, most administrations leave either a wave of good times or a canyon of hard times.

Don't forget that it was Biden who sparked the run up in inflation. We've almost tripled the interest servicing the debt in the last two years. And he doubled down on government expenditures by letting in millions of unvetted illegal immigrants.

Inflation was and is a global phenomenon. We are doing much better than our peer countries.

Does your definition of recovery include the fact that 96,000 of the jobs in the new jobs report were either government or returns from strike. Manufacturing would be -2000 jobs if it wasn't for auto workers returning to work. Labor force participation hasn't changed and the whopping 12 cents added to paychecks isn't the win that yall think it is.
Imagine celebrating a man who has opened our borders and done nothing to stop the rise of overdose deaths plaguing American families.

The LFP rate is a long term trend. Pretty similar numbers under Trump, except Trump presided over the lowest rate at around 60% at his lowest.

LFP rate is continuing its climb back to trend. Thanks for pointing out the graphic, and that Trump presided over the lowest LFP rate in modern history.

Whose fault is that? COVID hysteria was mostly Democrat state driven. Why don't you address the fact that free market jobs are in trouble and the actual 100k jobs added in October only replaces exiting workers?

It's a good jobs report. The Fed isn't looking for a totally gangbusters report because of worries of a resurgence of inflation pressure.

You guys keep trying to spin this as a disaster, though. Don't let me stop you.

Small business creation over the last 2+ years has increased by more than a million per year from 4M to more than 5.3M in years 21 and 22. 2023 looks to exceed both those years slightly. More and more people are creating their own path and shying away from hourly employment. The jobs report only captures the W2 job creation and not the K1 job increases.

Inflation was a concern in 2018, as Powell continued to raise rates following the tax and jobs act. The economy struggled and the markets moved down 25% in late 2018. The government shutdown coincided with the weakening economy so the Fed reversed course and again began to lower rates and buy treasuries in early 2019. In late 2019 the 2s and 10s inverted, which is a precursor to a recession. Covid hit in early 2020 so we have no idea how the economy and the Fed moves would have turned out. Inflation outpaced wages for the first time in March of 2021 as the Biden stimulus package was nearing it's passing in mid March. It's true, the added stimulus accelerated inflation and forced the Fed to move quickly and more aggressively in late 22 into 23 until the pauses of the last 3 months.
