Correct, the new hires starting rate of pay is higher than the starting pay in the last contract. August1,2019 is when you will get a general wage increase, if at that time we still do that kind of thing. Your raise should be every April, with your last progression raise in April 2019.

To all the new hires who are posting about raises and progression. Make it your number 1 priority to get yourself a contract book. As I know, anyone hired after August1,2013 didn't vote on this contract. They were not able to voice their opinions on these issues. Contact your local and get a contract book or use another members, but stay informed, attend meetings, and vote on your next contract.
