No rational human being finds the guy sympathetic. You can agree with McVeigh on certain issues regarding the federal response to Texas Jesus and military service traumatizing people, but once you start taking it out on innocent people there should be no sympathy.

There is sympathy to be had for Babbit. She 
ed up and it cost her her life when it clearly didn’t have to. But at the same time there should be reasoning with the law enforcement officer that decided to take her life. He doesn’t seem like a cold blooded murder, I’ve said it multiple times if I was facing down rioters with a weapon I would shoot. That non sense has no place in a free society, protest peacefully or go home and be mad.

Yeah that is a reasonable take on it. I’ve never held a police taser before, but I’ve held a glock and there is no confusing that weight from a fully loaded mag, the slide and the dotted grips. It’s a very recognizable feeling.
I also have a bias towards women being police officers, I believe they naturally have less tools available to them to not escalate things to deadly force that a male would, less control of the situation and more reason to fear for their lives in situations a man could handle. That being said there are men who are bigger pusillanimous than women.

ing ass over stuff that should be handled in court. Complying with police keeps you alive, you certainly dont escalate to evading an arrest and high speed chases putting regular folk at risk because you didn’t want to sit out a warrant.

I don’t share that, but I do believe in overall fitness exams for officers and drilling slams and wrestling maneuvers. The more non lethal tools and confidence you can build in those people the better.

Everyone should be allowed to work in law enforcement, but when it comes to who is fit for street duty and having people’s lives in their hands we should take that training a bit more seriously than we do. There shouldn’t be lowered standards for women in that regard, just like men who can’t make the cut don’t get in.

Even the ones who are suited for combat should be required to pass the same physical exam as men. I’m not saying they all can’t do it, I’m just saying the barriers shouldn’t be lowered to allow them to.
