It's that time of year again when the Union disappears and management gets to run wild. Those who have Saturday ground operations will know what I am talking about. I don't need any snarky remarks, save them please. I have a few simple questions.
1) Where in the contract does it state that we...
Long story short I am currently working as a seasonal delivery driver helper. The position entails a $200 weekly and $500 seasonal attendance bonus. I just received a notice for jury duty which would be during peak season when I would most likely be called. I am working on deferring my jury duty...
I want to eventually become a Ups package delivery driver. I've worked a couple seasons with UPS as a driver helper. I'm aware that you would typically have to start at an entry level position to work your way up to driver. I'm currently part of a different trades union but I am thinking of...

Hey guys!
Yesterday was my first day as a seasonal “Driver Helper” here in Ohio. Which is in reality a cart driver. Obviously from reading the threads I’ve realized the likelihood of obtaining a part-time job are slim to none. I’m just looking for tips to help me while I’m living the UPS...
I was hired as a permanently PT package handler and work in Irregs inside the hub for day sort. Can I become a driver helper just during peak and then go back to PH?
Friend was called in to come to work next week. But not to much information was given. Told her to come in at 8am. She received a phone call a few weeks ago and she asked if she wanted to do driver helper and package handle and she said yes.
Curious to know about working two position.
Is the...
I did my 4th day today as a driver helper. I did the route by myself on the golf cart. Let me ask you all something? The golf cart is stored in a shipping container, and unloading it and the little trailer isn't bad. What is bad though... is driving it back in. There is no ramp, so you have to...
Lmao. Like I care. Guess I’ll be running out of hours Friday morning this peak. Not my problem. “If you know anyone that is interested, better get them to work with you this peak otherwise it will be 300-400stops a day by yourself” nah that’s OK. Your job is to hire.
gotta love it. Like I’m...
What is the proper way to sheet a package when you encounter an aggressive dog not on a leash? Had one yesterday and I sheeted it Not In 1. Is that correct?
Back again,
I have yet to see this covered in the forums, and I've been itching to ask it.
I know UPS hires seasonal driver helpers off the street, but can a current PH opt to be a driver helper during the peak season?
Or do they only offer it to off the street hires so they don't have to...
No this isn't another dumb question like "will I be considered for a driver position" or anything like that......I'm sure I'll still get slammed the same as if it were a dumb question. But I just wanted to say thank you to the drivers out there that make this position fun and exciting. *bring on...
So I technically just started yesterday but they didn't have a route for me. Today at 9 I get a call asking if I'm available for a 5 hour route in my area. I tell them yes and ask when to expect a call from my driver. I was told 30 minutes and now it's almost noon with no info on whats...
So hi all, first off im very excited for an opportunity to work as my city barely has any available jobs. Secondly, what am I doing wrong here???
I was told during orientation that the company would contact me each morning I was needed to work between 9 and 11 to go out and work as a helper...
...and its hilarious.
Our center manager this morning was practically begging us to find peak season helpers.
Our manager claims that they need 47 helpers, and that they only have 6 at the moment.
Sucks when you try to pay people a pittance and then there's Amazon ready to pay you more to be...
Any other center doing this? Starting this week instead of using off the street/hub workers we are using drivers as helpers. For me it's the best thing ever. He not only knows the DIAD unlike most helpers, buy also knows my route. So we can destroy a bricked out truck like it's a 9.5...
I am currently an associate at a ups store and heard about the seasonal driver helper position, my question is:
If I transfer to driver helper, am I still guaranteed a position back at the store after the season wraps up or do I have to reapply?
Thanks in advance
