It sounds like some of these pensions need to tighten up on these rules. Early retirement doesnt help these pension's bottom line when they are already in the red

RR is 24/7/365; UPS is not there, yet.

Yeah my brother travels doing track maintenance so he goes out for a week of 12hr shifts and then has a week off, then he goes out for a week of 10hr shifts and then home a week... repeat

But when they start out they are working funky schedules.... wife has a uncle who finally just got his own “run” and it took like 20 years....

Yeah if your talking about conductor work or train crew but those jobs are as labor intensive as our feeder jobs. Lol
