Yep for quite a while in some areas. 2-3 years near me. Sounds like its a crap show and the contractors would like to get rid of it.

No thanks. I just don’t think the company can hemorrhage more money by adding another day delivering on the weekends.
But because it goes against logic, should be starting soon.
Maybe one of these days they'll get it right

Right now the only volume that would even be remotely deliverable on Sunday is Surepost and we take all of that to the post office so they can deliver it Sunday. Until that changes I don’t see us doing anything on Sunday for a long time.

That’s not what the language says. They can’t force you to work a Saturday schedule. In areas with yearly bids of a route says

main and south street
Tuesday-Saturday schedule
And you bid on it that’s not forced.
