Is this happening anywhere else?

During the winter when driving condition are getting bad they will send out a messages similar to that.

That doesn't mean you have to deliver all your packages by that time it just means you need to be off the clock by that time. So you Deliver what you can and sheet the rest as missed or how they tell you to... Don't jeopardize your safety to make there numbers work.

It all comes down to they just are trying to limit what they are paying in OT...

Agreed. Service takes a back seat to an arbitrary number. Chasing metrics instead of correcting the underlying problems.

Message back no if you don't think so. They know the Mendoza line for each and every route. If they are really concerned, they can build a time cushion in there by adding routes. Can't have it both ways.

What they really want to do is scare the runner-gunner types so they skip lunch or take lunch later.

Nope. They tried it in the past though. Over dispatch you and tell you you need to be done by 8. Get it done. Lmfao. Real life dosen't work like that........
If they can get 1 guy to do it. They did their job. We have guys that thought when they were on the 9.5 list, and they got the message to be in and off the clock by 9.5, that they had to be finished with their work by 9.5. It was comical to hear them.

Most of those guys are 25+ year vets who want the hours. Kids aren't home anymore and their wives bug them.

And the rest are guys who realize they'd just be at home waiting for Jumpman posts or watching an Upstate-related flame war anyway.

If you worked for UPS in the old days you would understand. It was all about the customer then. People both in management and hourlies cared about our reputation and the commitments that we as a company made to the customers. Staying out extra sucks, but it's not the customer's fault that Hellen Keller or Stevie Wonder screwed up. We did, and still do, what is right because it's the right thing to do.
Regardless of how bad or long my day is my customers come 1st
