There was a book out 13 years ago called Freakonomics that pointed out that because liberals are much more likely to get abortions there are less liberals now and the country has taken a conservative turn. Considering Democrats once controlled Congress for a 40 year stretch that seems highly plausible.

I know about the book from an interview I saw with the author. He specifically pointed that out as an example of unintended consequences he discovered and included in the book. And as usual, you keep on being you.
