I know a lot of the Church's history , was born and raised a Catholic , I do not believe in a lot of their teachings or laws , I don't think what the teach is what Christ had in mind !
As a Christian , not just because. I'm a Catholic , and also my moral belief, is why I don't believe in abortion !

Don't get me started about the Jehovah's Witnesses.
My larger point is, why do you think your God is better than anyone elses' God?
Maybe we shouldn't bring God into conversations about social policy.

Both use the old Testament, both have the same characters and the same mythology up until 500 AD or so.

It was my minor in college.
As such, I'm continuously amazed by Christians and Muslims alike.
But, we're leaving out Buddists, Zoroastrians, Wiccans...
I'm only half-joking.
We live in a world that has been dominated for the last 2,000 years by an incomplete and misinterpreted text about a man who was likely closer to Gautama than anything else.
Paul, the salesman, ruined it for everyone...or saved it. Depends on your perspective.
I wonder, do people realize that there were multiple versions of Christianity even before Christ was born?
And after Christ was born, there were still competing versions of the faith?
I know I don't have to tell you this, but the winning version of Christianity that we have today was just one of a myriad of potential outcomes.
And then there's Muhammad.
All of this goes 'south' rather quickly...
