Alcoholism

Why do you give this advice?

Is something wrong that I may possibly help with?

I would be glad to share my experience, strength, and hope with you.
No.

I don't even drink.

But it does seem to be a subject you are very touchy about.

Is there something you want to tell us?

Not touchy at all.

I was just replying to your contribution to this thread to see if there was a particular reason you had for giving the advice you gave.

Have a good day!

I could be wrong but, in my opinion, the consequences of excessive drinking and excessive religion aren't the same.

I‘ve been subjected to both and I can tell you excessive alcohol or excessive religion can turn people into someone you do not want to be around. To this day I do not hang around with either type of person.

KING Of GIFS
I understand and believe alcoholism to be a disease and not a moral failure or sin. This concept and this philosophy does not originate with me. I first learned it at a rehab I attended.

Soon after, I learned that the belief that alcoholism is an illness is a core concept, philosophy, and foundational suggestion of AA and the 12 Step Program.

I have been a member of AA and have been practicing and implementing the 12 Step Program in my life since Dec 4, 1990.

Today I celebrate this day Dec 3, 1990 as the last day that I drank alcohol.

34 years ago I went to a Monday Night football game between the Niners and the Giants not knowing that my life was going to be dramatically changed.

I firmly believe that it is solely by the grace of God, as I understand God, that I report His victory over this disease, through AA, and the subsequent salvation of my soul, and access to His Spirit and Power.
You drinking again?

I got alcohol intolerance, that ended my drinking days.
