If someone lodges false accusations against my business and it causes my wife and I financial or punitive damages, we can sue that person for lost revenue and irreparable damages.

Okay well if you're in a dark crowded theater and want to run away from magical invisible fires that don't emit light or smoke then have at it buddy.

SMH.
Yes, you failing to run is what puts you in more danger. The people running get trampled less than those staying still. You never see lion King?

Run with the wildebeests to not get trampled. Stay still and die.

And when people around you are running and scared, it takes a true fool to sit there until he sees something himself.

I think the billion dollars is an insane number and changes the narrative. Responsible use of your platform should have been the story and not the money. IMO
It’s a ridiculous ruling, for a ridiculous person. People who think it’s a good ruling are ridiculous as well. It’s like standing on the sidelines cheering your own demise. Had the shooter lived he wouldn’t even have been charged $1 billion for actually killing people.

So all he did was make unverifiable statements that got a bunch of idiots who listen to him riled up, and that justifies a judgement of nearly $1 billion?
They'll never collect that much. They can go after his unprotected wealth now and garnish future earnings at the rate of 25% of his pay. Unless he's in Texas. You're hung up on a number. The jury wanted to send a message. And for the life of me why you would defend him on this is beyond me.

True, if Alex Jones gets shut down by this, democracy as we know it will end.

For the life of me I don’t think anyone understands why do you think anyone’s defending him? We’re defending reality..
No one gives a damn about Alex Jones.

How do you eat an elephant? One bite. At. A time my friend. If you’re worried about actual conspiracy theories that affected us when are the people who lied about the Russiagate going to be charged with billions?
Oh that’s right never.

How is that relevant here?
What exactly is relevant to you? Because you don't seem to like examples that make a point. I forget the town it happened in, somewhere in Massachusetts I think, but a family owned bakery was defamed by the local college because the owner's son chased after a college student who had just stolen something from them. Because the student was black and this is a very woke liberal arts college, the school claimed the store owners were racist. Almost shut them down. The bakery, which had been a local fixture for decades, sued the college for defamation. They got awarded $38 million. You can't just say anything you like if it causes others harm.

I agree 100% that they should be held accountable. 1000%. That doesn't excuse Alex Jones from hurting these people. Because he tied it to gun control a lot of gun owners worried about their rights believed him. His audience grew. So he manipulated people with lies to make money. And some of his listeners acted out. If I was getting death threats based on a lie that also deeply hurt me and my wife about our murdered child, damn straight I'd sue him. And I hope they eat up his fat ass one bite at a time.

Yeah he did all those things $1 billion worth lol. Alex Jones is an interesting character he is always manage to mix actual facts with nonsense lies so that the facts look like lies. Almost like he’s an asset to the government to cover their nonsense. neocons such as yourself have never had a problem with a strong arm of government manipulating Narratives. But you got him van. This is a win for free speech and freedom in general lol.

Oh be honest. You're an Alex Jones supporter. Think he's always spot on. People like him make the Right look bad. We've got enough to worry about without charlatans filling empty heads with newly minted conspiracies.
