Funny you should say that :D
But at least I try to dig for more in depth information when a specific subject comes up. Such as finding out what happened at Foxcomm. If you guys don't want me to do that then I'll step back and gladly allow the rest of you parrots to spend your day reciting to one another the sayings of Chairman Murdoch and his hand puppets at Faux News.

So you disagree with me and bbsam about the fact that Democrats killed the deal.

But you can't say how.
Okay little lady, carry on.
Then tell me the facts surrounding how the Dems killed the deal. If they did anything they supported a conservative ideal by keeping public funds out of a venture that still presented a risk to the public coffers. If Bezos wanted to build in NYC he was still free to do so but he would have had to do what everybody who established operations in NYC had to do.....Use his own money.

Then tell me the facts surrounding how the Dems killed the deal.
The radicals like AOC promised to block the deal.

Then they got the prime opponent of the deal appointed to a state board position where he has the authority to veto the deal.

I guess the left wing trash you swallow from MSNBC and NPR didn't tell you about those facts.

Hope you enjoy all the ulcers you’re getting from all of this. 😆

In my personal experience these tax breaks have created middle class jobs, and usually have paid for themselves. But that's not what Amazon's headquarters would have done, so I get what you're saying.

Of course, it still would have brought in taxpayers that wouldn't be there otherwise. People who would put money into the existing economy. So I don't know what the hell Democrats were doing, other than virtue signaling with their class warfare tripe.
Tax breaks for companies shouldn't happen anywhere. Amazon/bezo are the worst of the worst..

This thread kind of reminds me of a little boy whose learning to be a man and is trying to figure out what to do with his little pecker.

I thought I was a conservative until I started reading this guy's post. Now I'm confused lol

You call that help? LMAO.

Never asked for it, don’t need it, never will need it.

You’re delusional and crave to sound important.
A guy who doesn’t even know who won the last presidential election is here to “educate” you on facts LOL

It’s Foxconn, and the discussion centers on New York, not Michigan.

And incidentally…

You remind me of a blind man bumping into walls expertly discussing Sheetrock seams.

And New York points to what Foxcomm did to Wisconsin as a good example of OPUD Over Promise Under Deliver. Governor Scott Walker got scammed by Foxcomm and the voters of Wisconsin ran him clean out of office.

And this has been going on for years.

Back in the late 80's the food processor I worked for was #3 in the space and was bought out by#2. The government of this county bent over backwards to assist with the buyout. Cut rate loans, loan guarantees everything that a small local government could do to help facilitate the purchase they did.it. All done on the basis of promised expansion and a doubling of the workforce to more than 600.

Six months after they bought the place you could plainly see that they weren't committed to it. In fact my coworkers and I were on lunch break reading the press release reiterating it's prior promises while at the same time we looked down to the other end of the building and there they were loading up equipment that was being shipped out to another plant in another state that they owned. Seven or 8 more months and that was it for the 300 who remained. Despite what they publicly stated repeatedly they were going to do was never what they actually intended to do all alone. Buy production volume only.

Another one of countless examples of how and why corporations have ability to lie and deceive just like anyone else. After all SCOTUS said that corporations are people too.

Good point. Coming from a more libertarian viewpoint, government subsidies in the form of tax breaks to large conglomerates at the expense of everyone else out there competing, is absolutely counter to true "conservatism." It gives the big boys an unfair advantage in this myth we call the "free market."
It was a headquarters with 25,000 high paying jobs. Cities lined up to offer incentives to get that business. Y'all make it sound like only Amazon would benefit. It is extremely capitalistic to get the best deal possible for your company @bacha29

And what did those other companies in those cities who also employ thousands pay high wages pay high property taxes purchase large amounts of utilities get? What big concessions did they get? In many cases they built that city into what it is today long before the Jeff Bezos of the world came along BTW Where was Jeff Bezos on September 11th?

I bet they would welcome the infusion of high paying jobs into their community. Remember most of those cities are Democratic run and they were bending over backwards to attract Amazon. Amazon didn't hold a gun to anyone's head. They knew their headquarters would be a huge plus for any city and wanted the best deal possible in return. Bezos is a Democrat by the way.

Bezos announced that he was looking for a corporate headquarters and would seek out someplace with terms to his liking. This was pure corporate extortion and blackmail. You want to build a structure you play by the rules, local zoning ordinances and your own money. Isn't that the conservative way? And your BS is coming from a guy who is so broke that he couldn't even pay his own hospital bill instead had no choice but to throw himself onto the taxpayer dole.

And loving every minute of it. And Bezos is a Democrat so of course he's doing it the liberal way. Tote that barge, lift that bale!
