DELACROIX
In the Spirit of Honore' Daumier
Nobody here is stopping a part-timer from signing a full-time driving bid.
You should be ashamed of yourself
If @PT Car Washer was under the Western, all those years he worked full time would be credited to his final pension benefit even if he was listed as a part timer. His final pension benefit would probably be 3 X as much if he went now. The same formula can be applied to those in the other conferences or regions even under the Central. The Western also have "NO CAPS" so you continue to accrue additional pension benefits after 35 years of service, even if @PT Car Washer signed a full time bid he would still have to start all over again to gain pension credits as a full timer.
Not sure if he has to work 5 years under the IBT/UPS Pension plan to get vesting credits. It probably wouldn't affect him because of his age, but there is a 6 % penalty for every year prior to age 65 for both the UPS Pension Plan for part timers and the IBT/UPS Pension Plan for full timers in the Central. Most of the Full Timers under the Central and Southern have 5 to 10 years part time service before they signed and won a full time bid, like I mentioned before most of those members consider that pocket change because of the pension formula currently in place under that Company controlled pension plan.
