Do some research ... the Libertarian movement evolved from an anarchist ideology.
"Libertarian" also refers to an anarchist ideology that developed in the 19th century and
to a version which developed in the United States that is avowedly pro-capitalist.
This form is often named "liberalism" elsewhere such as in Europe, where liberalism has a different common meaning than in the USA.

Why don't you make a point? Libertarianism (not the party) is a philosophy from Europe, probably French communes iirc. But it was left-wing, while the US is a perverted selfish capitalist individualist type. That isnt what oldandgrey said. libertarianism does not grow government like "Libertarians" and are anti-capitalist

unlike what oldngray said, libertarianism was always left-wing everywhere in the world and US conservatives took, twisted it around into a philosophy of mixed economy and capitalism. If you disagree I suggest you do the research
