I don't like Joel but he was getting attacked just because its a church. It really isn't set up to be a shelter and was also in the flood area. I do believe he should help the victims as much as possible but most of the outrage about it is misplaced.

It's a 17,000 seat arena. It would make a fine shelter. He got blasted because people were trying to get in and literally got turned away.


And yes when your millions of dollars come from preaching the word of god I'm sorry you're held to a higher standard.

In the end it is still other people's money and up to them to decide where to use it. Just because it is a big building it is still private and the public can't demand its use. Should Joel have done more? Probably so but people shouldn't throw a hissy fit because he didn't.

Most people I think were just happy to point out what a piece of he is.

He is a prosperity preacher and probably even worse than most of those old TV evangelists. I don't like him nor the message he preaches. My point was he was a big target just because it is a church.

Have you ever heard me make any comment about Catholic charities or how wealthy the Catholic church is? My disagreements are doctrinal and totally unrelated to charity. Have you ever heard me bash pedophile priests? No, because while a problem they aren't what the church represents.

You find issue in that? Of course it's a target, HE RUNS A CHURCH. Churches are supposed to be sanctuaries, safe places for people to go in times of need. And he shut the doors.
