As far as burial goes, I think Muslims have the best idea. They wash the body, wrap it in plain white cloth and bury it in the ground. Done. Cheap, plain and simple. Also a lot of praying.

There is an Indian (Native American) burial ground north of here where they just wrap the body in cloth and place it on a shelf built between 2 trees and let Mother Nature take its coarse. That's about as simple as it gets.
