@Brownslave688 we used the Seek app you shared here a while ago to identify these bugs that were swarming on my kids play set.

Never saw them before in my life. Spotted Lanternfly. Reported it to NJ agriculture. They are gonna get back to me.

"In addition to tree damage, when spotted lanternflies feed, they excrete a sugary substance, called honeydew, that encourages the growth of black sooty mold. This mold is harmless to people, however it causes damage to plants."
Try some of their poop, its sounds delicious
