I thought I was bitten a couple weeks ago. Doc said it was a spider, but still put me on antibiotics.

Never saw them before in my life. Spotted Lanternfly. Reported it to NJ agriculture. They are gonna get back to me.

It hadn’t really dug in yet, and I chased it off with the hot end of a cigarette.

I always check for ticks if I have been an area likely to have them (like tall grass). Found ticks several times but before they had enough time to burrow in. You can tuck pants legs inside socks to help keep out ticks if you are in a high risk area. Deer ticks are worse than dog ticks.
