Honestly I heard so many horror stories but they’re pretty fair. Very happy with the decision.

UPS was just insanity before I left. I was working 6 and 7 day weeks. I think at the end of April I averaged 3 hours of sleep a night over a two week period. Delivered every Saturday in May. Then they tried to get me to work a preload Memorial Day Monday when I was working that afternoon. They just don’t know when to stop. That’s when I decided enough was enough
and you were supposedly in IE where you didn't have to do that stuff any more?

It’s really sad how large companies don’t value their employees.

One day at a time. I’m glad you’re much happier working for Bezos. You sure picked a perfect time to quit UPS.
Yep, and I’m getting better. I had some really horrible days mixed in there, but things are turning around. Even met someone a few weeks ago. I’m just trying to focus on today and stop worrying about yesterday or tomorrow.

It just snowballed in August last year when I was moved to the air side. There were two days a year I didn’t have a sort running. When I say my phone never stopped ringing, I mean it. They had a formula that said there should be 4 people for the one job I had. COVID surge was just the straw that broke the camels back.

I don’t really ask that they value me. Just recognize that you don’t own me. I do have a life outside of work.
The third week after I started a storm blew through and knocked out power to our building for a few days. I got a call at 4PM Friday night that power was back on and it was all hands on deck. I showed up to a feast and a 12 pack (paid for by Amazon) thanking me for coming in on a Friday night.

i went in on one Saturday to a UPS building and the manager complained about getting another IE guy to deliver. I firmly believe the entirety of UPS’ problems are rooted in culture. Nothing else

If IE is bad how about having sales reps deliver?

It’s always sounded like an unnecessarily toxic and abusive culture.

It was harder being younger in IE. All the managers and division managers I supported were my parent’s age. No matter how good my last idea was I needed to prove I knew what I was talking about this time. I was just the young punk.

My last boss was fantastic, but it was too little too late.

Holy crap! I just went down a driveway on a looong dirt road, back in the woods where I could’ve sworn I heard banjos. I finally had to turn around because the driveway was getting worse and worse.

I don’t know. You’re IE I know you saw Orion 3.0 lol

But yeah the work culture is just insanely toxic at this place and this year it’s just gotten worse and worse. Been peak since April.
