Yeah I've been meaning to buy one actually.

a pellet gun can easily kill smaller animals like squirrels but rabbits are borderline. They can do it but takes a good shot and odds are much lower for a quick and clean kill.

Other problem is they scream bloody murder so unless I hit them just right they are going wake every neighbor.
