While I know those women represent the average American woman, they’re not what men want to see when/if they pick up a magazine. They can see that at home.
Saying these women are super models is like saying I should be playing professional baseball because the average person deserves to be represented also.

Not necessarily. There are many unknown models who walk the runway. A supermodel is very successful and well known.
But when you’re talking sports illustrated and wanting these types of women to be represented more they aren’t talking about some random runway model. They want the “average” person represented more at a very visible level.

To me, the SI swimsuit edition is just softcore pornography.

Seems to me that in the current climate, the average woman doesn't want to be objectified, so they probably shouldn't want to participate in something like that.
To me, it looks like it switches the argument from being against the aggressive oversexualization of the female body to just being jealous that theirs doesn't get as much attention.

I think that's just stupid.
