Zero. We don't play that way, you score what you score, but can only take double par, for sake of pace of play. I had one legit 8, lots of six's, and even a few pars.

No, but it is hard enough to hit that ball in the direction you want, who cares if you give yourself a more comfortable lie to hit it from if everyone in your group is doing it?

I never had any problem with improving your lie as long as you don't move the ball closer to the hole.

Most of the courses I played on (cheap ones) were poorly maintained so I always played by winter rules. It wasn't like I was playing for money.
