But I think that’s kind of the thing. if they lived just about anywhere else, they would be considered pretty well off but in California they’re barely keeping their head above water. Hey, they love it there they live there the whole lives. I was born there. I love it there but there’s something wrong.

Well, we've had a Democrat in the White House for the past 3 years. Spending is still way above pre-COVID levels and Democrats have neither raised nor lowered taxes. Seems to me they don't have a problem with Orange Jesus tax cuts.
And who are the people most affected? Low paid service workers.
People today want somebody to cook their food, serve them their meals, wash their clothes, take care of their kids, do their shopping, clean their house, cut their grass, trim their hedges, wash their windows, do their laundry.. things people did themselves for generations and more often than not today they're just too damn lazy to do it themselves....and worst of all.....
They want it done for nothing.
Fortunately for you, you have your mom upstairs doing all that for you..
Can't do anything until the legislation expires along with the fact that the GOP still controls the House by only a vote or two but they can still keep legislation from coming up for a vote as we saw with their own immigration bill.

Not to mention, when has anyone ever been waited on hand and foot at a fast food place? That’s totally stupid thinking.
We don't go out to eat that often it has one of the main reasons is because of the service and you see some of the people serving you the food.
But those jobs are not meant to sustain a family
It's designed to either give you work experience or maybe supplement your income as a second job

There is simply no chance of passing any labor law legislation during the current of session of congress. Perhaps the new one will but we'll have to wait and see.
Perfect example. People either too lazy to cook for themselves or too dumb to know how. They want somebody to do that for them....and do it for nothing.
