I saw some stories of city people who drove to the mountains for the weekend and now they’re stuck there because roads are closed. They’re running out of food. I must be a rare beast because I check the weather before going somewhere for a weekend, if for no other reason than to know what to pack.

Yeah most coastal mountains don't see this type of weather and don't have the CHP controlling the roads. That's why you get these people stuck on these roads.
