Members have voiced their thoughts and concerns in this thread.

The true test, will be will be when the members attend their Locals'

meeting and put the issues and priorities on paper.

Nothing secretive about that.

This is what I used to tell my kids

Don't tell me what you're going to do

Show me what you've done

So far haven't seen much

Does dissatisfaction with your Local leadership....

Always translate to hurt feelings with the IBT ??
The half wits at my Local does not and has not played any role in UPS contract negotiations, to my knowledge?
I don't recall even having a proposal meeting last time, just a meeting to try and sell the initial offer.

Not sure how you connected those dots?

Again my misgivings for the IBT stems from an "information brown out" during the last contract prior to and during negotiations, followed by a series of lies and half truths when trying to pass subsequent failed Supplements, sealed with an imposition of three riders.

It was quite the cluster.
I'm surprised that you don't remember?

No.

The members screw themselves, for lack of participation.

And UPS sits back.... and laughs.

....yet the notion that this could also be a reflection of the leadership somehow escapes you?

It's so pitiful to watch an organization do the same things over and over, expecting different results.
It's insane.

How convenient it is to just blame it on your constituents, instead of doing something to remedy it.

Pfft

I always respect the opinions of a retiree.

I would be willing to wager, your Local did have a proposal meeting.

Come on @Bubblehead....

"Calling a spade a spade", is not blaming constituents for their lack of participation.

It's just a FACT. (did I really just say that ?)

There was one person on a different forum that used to say:

"You can lead a Teamster to knowledge, but you can't make him think."

(or something to that effect)

Some people just don't get that it's up to us. We put in the proposals to the IBT and they negotiate on our behalf. I'm curious to know how many of the members were actually involved with proposals the last contract? The National passed and the majority rule. I wonder how many people just voted and didn't read everything or just went by hearsay? People have to get involved.
Especially the part-timers.
