I would like MLK day to be observed as a paid closed holiday as well as two option days in advance.Now I just figured if a guy works that day and gets double time ($$$), he just got two more holidays whenever he wants.

Some people want (or need) the overtime, for various reasons.
A blanket proposal too keep all drivers under 9.5.... limits earning potential.
If you had to opt out, the threat of the 3-day ride wouldn't exist.

I don't like "all drivers" being restricted under 9.5 also. Opting off the 9.5 instead of on may at least reduce the harassment of asking to be relieved of OT. But I do think that it should be an automatic payout reflecting in the following paycheck.This is a good suggestion.

Use all their methods and work (honestly) the same every day and the three day ride is a waste of their time.
