what portion of americans have no 401k?

i assume its the inferior thing which replaced defined pensions.

i currently work for a company with a defined pension. i quit one that had one. im interviewing with one that has one i think.

ive worked with rich companies that just match some of what you contribute.

Still on track to head to Ireland next year?

ive watched frontline documentary on retirement crisis
did frontline tell you this?

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that 57% of private-sector firms with fewer than 100 workers offered a retirement benefit plan as of 2023, while 86% of companies with 100 or more workers—and 91% of firms with 500 or more workers—offered a plan

I have a pension. It’s great. I’m glad I do.

I also have a 401(k) that never received any matching contributions from UPS.

So everything I saved was my own money in that 401(k).

I am not an investing guru.

I treated my 401(k) like a Ronco rotisserie chicken commercial. I “set it and forget it.”

It has done very well. When I retire, I will likely have well over $1 million..

Saving for retirement requires only personal responsibility.
