The thing about UPS is that it is recognized by a wide segment of the population (deserved or not) as being a company that offers some of the best blue collar employment in the nation. But if not for the fact that it has a union pushing it to that top level what would have?.... Fedex.View attachment 340073
Only to have to Rehire 1200 a month later when they figure out they don’t work for the right FedEx
People criticize Fedex for going with automation and robotics. You will see more and more of that in the future. The thing about UPS is that it is recognized by a wide segment of the population (deserved or not) as being a company that offers some of the best blue collar employment in the nation. Either way, the "Big 3" are going to have to find a way to reduce the hand labor and human involvement required in that business because the young, healthy manpower isn't going to be there and while many boomers could perform admirably given the way so many were forced out in favor of younger and cheaper labor few would be willing to go back.
Wow that's informative..automation..no kidd'n..now put down your rotary phone and sign off your AOLPeople criticize Fedex for going with automation and robotics. You will see more and more of that in the future.
I wish I could explain something like that. And yet, there is always someone, generally of a lower caste, who is willing to step into the job, even if temporarily. Does that incriminate the Ground employer, or is it an affirmation of the myriad other employers who offer the same pay and are not receiving the same condemnation from you? As much as it pains me to agree with Itsy on anything, an employer has no obligation to offer any more than the least acceptable pay that will fill the position. That's why she needs illegal immigration to maintain her business. Since the dawn of the ability of one man to compensate another for work performed, people have uprooted their lives and sought a better one. The only other solution that has worked is collective bargaining, aka a Union. The same greed that is symbolic of the employer inevitably corrupts the union. Your solution is Socialism. Unless you are willing to subjugate yourself to the corruption that is Socialism, you should continue to grudgingly accept Capitalism as the best formula humans have invented.
For some odd reason I'd bet my rear end you are a cheerful giver however.Wrong, and wrong.
Take something that’s mine away, and I’ll take back every penny I can manage.
If I can take the medical advancements with me I would gladly go back to the 50's.Lower caste???? Are you in India?? Or stuck in the 50s?????
Actually it's my guess you couldn't be further from the truth.Your reply shows that you think you are somehow superior to others. All your posts have some degree of smugness and indicate a false sense of self-importance that you have. Narcissist and egomaniac are words that easily come to mind when reading any of your posts
Got my White Privilege from a box of Cocoa Krispies, along with a decoder ring, when I was a kid.I wish I could explain something like that.
Masterful.
That talent must have been included in that box of white privilege you were handed at birth.
Well said Fred![]()
Ask an African American that ?? Then your answer would be incorrectIf I can take the medical advancements with me I would gladly go back to the 50's.
Seriously, wouldn't you?
The Ground network really sucks right now and if they can’t get staffed now, I don’t know why they think they’ll be ready come peak.Ground playing games with customers packages Some Georgia business owners say they are fed up with FedEx

Would you ascribe the problem to the competition for labor from Amazon, or from your Federal government? The Ground network really sucks right now and if they can’t get staffed now, I don’t know why they think they’ll be ready come peak.
I’d say a lot of it is a company too cheap to value people and make it’s positions competitive with others. It’s not like they don’t make the profit to do so. They simply choose not to.Would you ascribe the problem to the competition for labor from Amazon, or from your Federal government?
