I've been retired for nearly 5 years. Saw him on at the delivery building. Same local. Asked him if he was trying to run a number. Initially he was a little bit standoffish, then I started talking to him. Basically 30 year driver with his plaque on the side of the package car. He and I have a lot of stock pre 1999. Telling me as a shop steward he can't get nothing done. I know from local 385 as back in the day I had to utilize them for not keeping my mouth shut and not running numbers. I was a shop stewart for a short time. They brought in center managers on their last legs to retire in Central Florida and trying to work out deals with me which was of course as a shop stewart you have to bring your violin in because too many so called brothers will piss and moan and not file a grievance. Been to a lot of panel hearings They tried to fire me many times but I still have my pension now, living the dream. Center managers were fired that tried to take me out.
Now I hear that drivers bring packages back to the center and his barn someone was gone for 3 plus weeks and he still got his job back from what he said.
Was up for a feeder position twice. Passed everything. Package driver before me and I were discounted because of our age and years of service. They wanted young guys like in Jacksonville they hired 21-year-olds off the street going straight into feeders.
We concluded it was all about Carol Tome, the CEO and all about dei. She needs to get rid of so please vote her out if you own stock. Dividends are still good but it's a
show now as my average cost per share is less than $20 since I haven't bought any since 1999.
I've seen a lot of
that they transfer in managers from other centers within the mileage that they don't have to pay. It's kind of like a shell game like priests and bishops.
Have a nice day.
