Yup. I remember if they needed something I'd get a message at my first 5 pick up stops to call the center.

After that it was beepers or pagers. Not every route had one, so the driver that

did.... got all the on-call airs for the entire loop. Unless you were out of range.

I still have carbon paper and bag phone calling instructions in my driver supplies. We used to have to call and leave a voice mail for an air driver to make late OCA pickups
