I like that the people in this thread actually had a problem with skipping their lunch and working unsafe to bonus. Good for you. The thirty days does a good job of compromising people and priming them for exploitation.
It’s geared towards making you feel like you can’t do this job without cutting corners, with out donating your time to UPS by working off the clock in the mornings and through your lunch. It rewards this behavior and even tricks some people into thinking they are better because of it.
They begin to take part in this system of exploitation by being mad at the people who refuse to continue to go along with it.
Some supervisors will try to convince you as you get better at the job you will no longer have to do this, but better at the job is subjective and as you get “better” they will just add more work to keep you in this negative feedback loop. It really is a
ty company culture and environment to work in, I like to call it hostile, they like to say “boot camp” or “military”.
