That’s Craptacular
Why are you mad lol? Is it because the truth hurts? Face it, the job is easy, you are overpaid. Your $32 wage will soon be cut, just watch. The American citizen ain't buying it, we will soon get fed up and let the corporation throw you guys under the bus and make you work for the money and give you what you guys are worth. You will have to pay into your benefits sooner or later, nobody got time to baby sit you guys and give you your candy when you cry waaaaah.
Pretty tough talk from a kid who doesn't even have a driver's license. You don't even know how to drive a car, let alone a brown truck!! LMAO

We are ALL being WATCHED!
I won't comment on the pay for Drivers. They get what they get. Good for them - or bad for them depending on your paradigm.

However;
Unload is the toughest job at UPS and they should be highest paid. Raise the unload pay and then let the unload jobs be bid so the lazy feeder and package drivers would do those jobs for the same pay and where they would have to finally start working hard.

Do you really think Unload is harder than Load? I guess it depends on your perspective. I have always preferred unloading to loading. Building wall after wall after hand scanning package after package is tougher work IMO than throwing packages on a belt for unloading. Easier (not much but easier) to unload as far as I have determined.

I personally think trailer work in the hubs, either loading or unloading, is the worst. And our Hub does not allow earbuds, so we can't even have music. It truly is a job for a grunt, and pays accordingly. As per another thread, and you wonder why there is high turnover? Under 9 bucks an hour to start loading trailers for four or five hours a night. Sheesh.

Most drivers at my building couldn't even unload a trailer as fast as me even if my two hands were broken. Anybody can drive a package car and make deliveries - even old 70 yr old men. But to unload and load trailers - the job is not for everybody. I unload a truck by my self with a metro that only extends half way into the truck, and I did it in only 30 minutes. I wasn't even trying. But how could someone say driving a package car is hard when old 70 yr old men can do it? I personally don't think that drivers should be paid more than $20 an hour. Anybody with one brain cell can do it. I also don't think that drivers should be paid more than highly skilled workers such as mechanics, engineers and construction workers. I think at least 25 to 30 percent of full time drivers' pay should be slashed and be added onto the part timers' pay rates. We need more non sellout part timer ba and officers.
Your a punk!

Are we highly overpaid? No, but I do feel that a more appropriate level of compensation, for a job which requires only a HS diploma and drivers license, would be in the $25-28/hour range.

And to clear your conscience you donate that extra $8-$5 to.........................

I say I earn my pay in the first week of the year when I don't kill anyone with my truck. The other 51 weeks are just gravy for UPS.

I understand that the OP was just trolling for reactions. That's cute. Totally obvious that the individual has no clue what they're talking about, and I'll elaborate further. I've unloaded, loaded, was an Air Walker, an Air Driver, and currently a FT driver over the last 19 years with the company. There were bad days unloading, loading, and driving, but from my personal experiences driving has been the toughest position out of all of them. We finish loading our vehicles daily because the Preload sucks. We deal with a-hole drivers, and ignorant customers every day. While unloading the 350 pieces on average (my trip) we have to pickup almost the same amount while stressing over commit times. Then there's the weather to contend with. From below zero to 114, from soaking rains to blizzards. You think unloading or loading indoors can even compete? Haha. I'm a combat wounded Vet, and spent 18 years in the Army. There are days I'd rather be back in Iraq than running my hood trip. Obviously this is still all opinion and subjective. I'm sure you part timers have it rough getting through those 4 hours you have to work. o_O

We EARN every frigging penny. Don't you ever forget that. Props to the(good)preloaders(plenty in my center) that put care into each load everyday. Preciate you top notch preloaders. Difference between me hitting UPS for an 11 hour day or a 9 hour day.
