You're getting wiseazz replies because if you had used the search feature you'd have found pages of threads on this. If you have a question about a particular shoe or boot you could get away with asking who has used it and their thoughts without catching too much flack.

lightweight, durable, comfortable sneaker type shoes for summer.

waterproof, durable, lightweight, comfortable boots, preferably gortex for winter, must have good traction in all weather.

new balance makes decent, affordable shoes since you will probably need a new pair every 4-6 months.
