Opinion | The serious legal threat to President Trump in the Mar-a-Lago probe - The Washington Post

"This case reflects the central nightmare of the Trump post-presidency. He seems to believe, in the words of the French King Louis XIV, “L’etat, c’est moi,” meaning: “I am the state.” Trump’s stationery still bears the presidential seal. He still appears to covet the permanent power of a leader like China’s Xi Jinping, of whom he said in 2018: “He’s now president for life. … Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot someday.”
And all this time i thought people sought the presidency as monks in service.

the politics of the elites. All praise the words of the master race :)

when going for the dramatic effect quote another elitist from another time to show your elitism. Extra points awarded if you can quote in another language since surely quoting a man from another country in another time speaking a different language from another political system and another mindset will show how elite we truly are.

Now the meat and potatoes of this juicy little diversion. Its important to interject a nefarious motive to further paint the person with the vilest of intentions. In so doing do not sweat the details that of the 46 presidents of this country only one the first may have been drafted into the position. All others having sought that position to become what you now imply a character flaw of seeking glory and desiring the opium of power.

oh no please read this nonsense as a mindless zot and believe that Trump is the one and only president of this country to have have such a lust for power and prestige .

and you guys claim you're not part of a cult.

So Trump was responsible but Biden isn't.
Typical hypocrite attitude.
Context matters.

Trump was being contrarian and obstinate about simple things people could do to slow down the spread.

Biden let science about the pandemic take the lead, by and large. But Biden couldn't magically force injections of the very thing that saved the most lives. So people died by the hundreds of thousands, virtually all of them were unvaccinated or under-vaccinated.

Nothing's perfect but Trump let politics get in the way of saving lives. I'll give him some credit, however, for being clear and open about the need for people to get vaccinated later after he was fired.

That is fake news.
At first many died but once everyone was made aware, the number dropped off. Except where idiots were in charge of nursing homes, those numbers rose.
And one has to recall that by gov't decree anyone who had died with a positive test of covid by any other means had to be listed as a covid death. I still like the local man who died in a car wreck by decapitation but was listed as a covid death.

and lost a heck of a lot less lives than Biden .

Biden tried to force injections and ruined lives in the process. none of your excuses were heard when Biden ran for President. Back then he was the can do guy.

um Harris and Biden badmouthed the vaccine when they ran for office. They created the politics .

A problem with your thesis. The virus has pretty much run its course but at least a third of the population never got vaccinated. Why isn't the virus raging amongst them? The fact is lockdowns prolonged the pandemic. We should have let the virus run as swiftly as possible through the population to shorten the pandemic. They did so in Sweden with great success. And by the way Biden got a lot of people booted from their jobs for refusing the vaccine. We certainly could have had the most vulnerable take precautions but after it became clear who was most at risk those following the "science" dogmatically held onto unnecessary and harmful shutdowns, keeping kids from school, ruining livelihoods, etc.
