Fed Ex guy stopping flag burners

UPS would have fired the guy. They tell us we aren't to get involved in at risk situations. Like helping people hurt in a car wreck, they want us to drive a safe distance away and call 911. Its only a job, do what is right. Use your brain and make an intelligent decision, we all know the UPS way isn't always the right way.

I can't tell you that stopping nudniks from burning the flag is worth my time. After our most recent election its obvious there is a portion of society that has no respect for anyone or anything. I would let law enforcement deal with them. If it becomes my problem then I guess it means the war is on.

Been around the block a few times
Let this be a lesson to any of us that would even consider getting involved in situations beyond the capacities of our daily duties. If we choose to involve ourselves then we must strip down to our skivvies dare we bring shame upon the brand. We can be seen in the world but not of the world.

The

University of Iowa students have a proud history of social protest. This FedEx worker's actions just gave them national publicity.
From the protestor's perspective the worst thing that could have happened was being ignored. The Fedex guy gave them just what they wanted, now they can get on snapface and instachat and talk about how they were assaulted by a fascist.

Was that a Bill Belichick reference?

guy for fedex gets video taped stopping a bunch of snow flakes burning the flag. he takes flag, then returns and sprays said snowflakes with a fire extinguisher. fedex reviews tape, posts statement saying the guy will remain as an employee of fedex. they ultimately said they agree with his actions.

now, to the question. how quickly would UPS have fired him in an effort to save face?

I'd say it would entirely depend on the political philosophy* of the manager who was making the call.

*philosophy in this case could refer to which ever type of propaganda they have ben exposed to the most (left vs right)

We had a driver pull a guy out of a burning vehicle. Had all the suits show up afterwards to hail him as a hero (which he was).
