So if I'm the Saudi oil minister, I'm paying close attention to US supply and where their break point is. I guess we are showing them. But doesn't that also tell them that the days of $100 oil are gone?

why would you tell the saudis that "the days of $100 dollar oil is gone"...?

They are the ONES who dont want it at $100 dollars. Did you miss the articles i linked from 2011?

"WE" arent showing them anything. "WE" are trying to get it back to $100, not because the oil industries cant make a profit, but because they want the RECORD profits they have been enjoying since GW BUSH.

"WE" are showing them that "WE" want the price of oil too high for them.

What "we" are experiencing with low priced oil, is that countries hostile to us are suffering from the drop in oil.

Russia is taking a beating, venezuela is taking a beating, ISIS is taking a beating and this is good for the world.

But, as the oil companies are showing us clear as a bell, is that they are willing to shut down wells each week a little at a time until the shut off 50% of our producing wells and the price of oil driven back up to over $90 dollars a barrel.

That means $4 dollar a gallon gas to you and I BBSAM.

I believe the article you referenced gave numbers of wells shut down. The number is small.

US companies want to make a profit. That mark becomes limited between $50 and $60 a barrel. Is $90 better for them? Sure, if the global economy can support it. But there's a sweet spot that the US and Saudi Arabia have found where oil is still profitable and other global players are hobbled.

One of our vehicles is a 3/4 ton Suburban 4 wheel drive with a 42 gallon tank and the price drop for it has been nice. Recently filled up and it was $65 dollars. Thought for a moment the dispenser was broken.

Thank goodness this beast is not a daily driver because when the gas was at it's highest, a fill up was nearly $200.
