Uh what? I remember lots of gas between 90 cents and $1.25 through most of the 90's

Baba's price was $.63 cents per gallon (click here) and I couldn't remember that low except back in the 70's so I used 1975. In case someone else could remember that .63 cent price in another year I posted a link to the calculator so anyone could run the numbers.

No I don't. I have been playing with the CPI calculator and one thing becomes clear: why energy prices aren't included in inflation figures. Inflation can be and has been relatively flat but the long term spike in energy costs can completely obscure that to people. Energy has had a market all to itself. Maybe that bubble has finally burst.

Well as history shows those prices will most likely rebound like a basketball. Let's just not elect another oil monger for president. Even prices like $0.63 and $1.50 are realistic for us nowadays. The oil companies make money hand over fist at any price.

.63 cents is not
Realistic at all.

They have already said the refineries will stop production when it gets close
To a dollar. They can't make money any lower than that.

You just will never, ever admit that you were wrong. The medical reasoning that I have found on people who never admit to being wrong is to protect a very fragile sense of self.

Yeah u asked what $1.65 today was in 1975. It was 38 cents.
